Presently, industry remedial designs rely heavily upon the field experience of the designer. Brown Environmental is developing software that will mathematically describe the outcome of each application with the input of some key site data. This software will integrate injection detection data, extraction data, and the site-specific treatability data for a better prediction of the outcome for the remedial effort. The final module to be integrated will be regional cost data. Program output will be the resultant concentration for each contaminant of concern on an elapsed time basis for a given remedial cost. This software will allow remediators and clients to design remedial efforts that maximize their return while observing their budget.
