Four Areas of Concern were identified on this nine acre salvage yard and included: one fuel oil UST, one Leaded Gasoline UST, Impacted Surface Soils, and Historic Fill. Soil and groundwater were impacted with nineteen compounds above the Statewide Health Standard. The devised closure strategy included the removal of the two USTs and the attaining of the Statewide Health Standard for gasoline and fuel oil impacted soils through the application of bioremediation. Liability protection was secured through the PA Land Recycling and Environmental Remediation Standards Act.
