Brown Environmental was retained to provide bioremedial services for gasoline and No. 4 fuel oil impacted soil. The soil was excavated, treated with a microbial slurry, and immediately backfilled with a network of installed aeration piping. Consultant collected attainment samples 60 days following the treatment. No organic compounds were detected above the Statewide Health Standard, with the exception of Benzo (a) Pyrene. The consultant opted to apply the Site-Specific Standard to achieve closure for this compound, instead of a completing a second bioremedial treatment due to cost considerations. PADEP concurred that the Site-Specific Standard had been attained and conveyed liability protection.
