Brown Environmental was retained to provide bioremedial services. A network of 10 injection and extraction points were installed to remediate a discharge of heating fuel that migrated under a residential structure. An extraction system was used to aerate the subsurface environment. The NJDEP groundwater quality standards were attained within three months, with no rebound in concentrations over the following year of monitoring. Secondary lines of evidence indicate that the mass removal was attributable to biological degradation. The NJDEP has been petitioned for a “No Further Action” determination by the consultant.
