Brown Environmental was retained to provide bioremedial services within a retention basin. Upon brake failure, a loaded quarry dump truck ran through the wall of a Bank. The truck fuel tank was pierced in the process and 80 gallons of diesel were discharged to a catch basin and subsequently conveyed to a retention pond. Brown Environmental treated the catch basin and pond with a bioremedial slurry utilizing the Newtown Fire Department’s Fire Truck to aerate the pond surface. The retention basin water was sampled 48 hours following treatment with no detectable fuel oil constituents found.
